Fischer Random Chess (Chess960) shuffles the back-rank pieces into one of 960 legal starting setups —
bishops always land on opposite-colored squares and the king always starts between the two rooks, so
castling still works. It removes memorized opening theory since every game starts from a fresh position.

Capture Values
♙Pawn = 1♘♗ = 3♖= 5♕= 10
Evolution Paths
♙Pawn 2 pts → Knight or Bishop (your choice)
♘Knight / ♗ Bishop 6 pts → Rook
♖Rook 10 pts → Queen
♕Queen 20 pts → ⭐ Amazon (Queen + Knight moves)
♔King — never evolves
Leftover points carry over after evolving. The counter on each piece shows progress.
🎲 Gambling
Toggle Gamble any time — it applies from your next capture.
When on, any capture lets you gamble: a 50/50 roll.
Win → double the points. Lose → your capturing piece is destroyed for nothing.
Kings never gamble, and you can't risk a piece that's shielding your own King.
⏱ Clock
Set equal times, or uneven ones for a handicap. Increments can be equal or lopsided too.
Fischer adds the full increment every move; Bronstein only banks back the time you actually used (never more than the increment).
Increments can apply from move 1, or only once a clock falls under a chosen threshold.
Running out of time loses — unless your opponent has no material left to checkmate you, which is a draw.
